Click-Loc is the only self-locking feature available for turnbuckles and other similar adjustable linkages often used with ball joints, spherical bearings, rod ends, "Heim joints", and clevises. The Click-Loc mechanism positively prevents the jam nuts from loosening due to vibration or any other environmental conditions. It's proven to be so reliable that it's specified for Flight Safety Critical applications such as pitch control rods.

Click-Loc reusability is guaranteed to be at least 100 cycles but in all turnbuckle/jam nut applications thus far it's surpassed that number with no appreciable wear. Like all of our Click-Loc products it's suitable for temperatures from cryogenic to over 1200°F.
Our standard Click-Loc turnbuckle/jam nut product line includes components for UNJF thread sizes .250-28 through .750-16, both RH and LH. ISO and other thread sizes are available upon request. We also have a unique positive indexing version that is functionally equivalent to design standards such as AS81935 (ref AS14227, NAS509, NAS513, NAS559 and NAS1193). This provides for positive indexing of the male and female threads just like the design standards, but additionally positive locking of the jam nut - all with no safety wire or lockwire required!
The adjustable engine mounts on the F-22 Raptor fighter aircraft are secured with Click-Locs. This USAF Tech Bulletin explains these components in more detail. Various other Click-Loc adjustable linkages are used on the Boeing 777, the EJ200 Eurofighter, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and numerous commercial applications as well.
